We were appointed by Global Mutual via competitive tendering in February 2018 to advise, design and procure a re-branding and fit-out programme on a prominent 11.8 - acre freehold site, comprising eight existing office buildings on Cardiff’s waterfront. Our brief, working alongside a team of graphic and communication consultants, was to create a new identity for Global Mutual Parmer Cardiff and through the identification of key design themes, establish a new presence and recognisable family of Parmer offices locally within a number of existing buildings. This primarily involved the conversion and refurbishment of a number of existing offices into new office, reception / welcome areas and cafe facilities.

The scope of the work varied from; obtaining planning permission for extending new reception areas, full fit-out, furniture and fittings design for "front-of-house" welcome areas - to shell and core / lettable office floor plate design for future tenancy. We held a series of client design workshops to develop the full technical and design specification, enabling the client to tender the works under a JCT traditional contract.

The scope of works included: • Survey procurement and preparation of existing tenancy demise information • New street signage/branding • New entrances to existing offices • Alterations and refurbishment of existing entrances, and core areas to all floors • Refurbishment/fit-out of two floors of 6,400 sqft of office space • Refurbishment / Fit-out of two floors of 26,930 sqft office space • New external landscaping and amenity areas • All necessary statutory applications, full design to RIBA stage 4 including; Schedules of Works, NBS specifications, Assistance with Tendering process, Detailed Furniture and Fittings design and procurement.
