We are BAND Architects. A small and accomplished band of creative architects, designers and professionals enthusiastic about what we do. We fled the big, corporate practices to do it our way, and rediscover our craft. Since then we’ve helped clients to realise great places to live, work, learn and have fun. It’s our choice to be a small practice - small but potent! We think it has many benefits for our clients. They enjoy the individual approach, that we care about what we do, and that we listen to their needs. So, if you’ve got a great idea for a project and you want help realising it . . . Let’s Talk

is a director and works in the Chepstow office. Based in such a strategic location, we’ve helped clients in Wales, the South West and the Midlands. Has probably worked on every type of building over the last 20 years, from beginning to end and everything in-between. Loves music and ancient history. Likes golf and aikido, but isn’t very good at either.
email meis a director and works in the Macclesfield office leading projects north of Birmingham. He works with local residents, businesses, developers and public bodies to promote and design projects focussed on the regeneration of Macclesfield and the North West. Dave is a proud Wigan man and was their first vegeterian pie eater!

What we've been
“BAND Architects understood our design brief instinctively. They were imaginative & distinctive in their design concept and very adept at delivering it despite us reducing the budget and tenders coming in above budget. They’re also a rarity in being as skilled a contract administrator as designer. Drawings, documentations and arrangements are all thoroughly planned and executed promptly. Their personal style is calm, collaborative, personable, whilst also being assertive and uncompromising on quality.
If only all architects and designers were like BAND! After 30 years of being a client to designers, BAND Architects are one of a tiny handful of the very best I’ve worked with”.
Tim Pinder - CEO
Peaks and Plains Housing Association
“I have worked with Band Architects on an Education new build scheme recently. They developed a very well-tailored scheme to exceed the client’s needs and expectations and still remain within the planning, programme and budget constraints imposed upon the project. Both Paul and David are very approachable and knowledgeable architects who have the ability to make the spaces they create in to much more than simply rooms and buildings”.
Laurence Reilly
Head of Design, Kier Construction
“BAND Architects are a pleasure to work with, and are always happy to help. They have an excellent knowledge of design and of public buildings, and have excelled in every project we’ve undertaken together. A personal and very attentive service at a competitive price”.
Gregg Barton - Programme Director
Department for Education
“BAND Architects provide creative designs within agreed budgets and are always able to meet deadlines. A very professional, diligent team and always fun to work with”.
Ed Lockyer - Director
Global Mutual Ltd
“I’ve worked with Paul and David for many years and I am very pleased with the performance of BAND Architects and their attention to detail. They are very experienced, approachable and easy to work with”.
Stephen Jones - Associate Director
MACE Group Ltd
“The service that BAND Architects provided, from start to finish of the project, was exemplary”.
Andrew Sharp - Headteacher
Pear Tree Community School
“I would have no hesitation in saying that BAND Architects are the best architects that we have worked with - and we are currently about to complete our third major building project. Paul and Dave are highly professional and approachable and manage to blend creativity with cost effectiveness in their designs. We are converting a Victorian threshing mill into a four-bed house and first approached a different company to do the job but found BAND’s ideas to be far more imaginative and exciting, while at the same time being more suited to the location and sympathetic to the original building. They have always been prompt in producing drawings and helpful when asked for advice”.

"Paul from Band Architects really listened to our ambitions for the house and interpreted our vision beautifully. He not only came up with an amazing design that we loved but one that would work for us as a family on a day to day basis. His attention to detail, researching history, incorporating local materials, ensuring the house sits well within its landscape, is impressive. One other thing worth a mention is how approachable and affable Paul is. He has made what could be a daunting, challenging process into an exciting, enjoyable venture".
